Mortgage Loan Funder
Position Description:
The primary purpose of the Loan Funder is to ensure that the appropriate funds are available for the customer on the day of the loan disbursement. This will include the efficient use of our technology systems to apply the proper funding procedures for all types of first mortgages. The Loan Funder will obtain the essential documentation to accurately disburse the funds in accordance with salability guidelines, in addition to the RESPA guidelines. A Loan Funder must have knowledge of internal policies and procedures and adhere to all the necessary requirements.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Review final Hud-1 for accuracy and compliance. Reconcile within the loan origination system. Verify seller and lender credits, funds on deposit, payoff of debt (if applicable) and ensure borrower has met minimum investment requirements (if applicable)
- Follow up with closing/escrow agent to verify consummation of loan, disbursement of funds and advise of any problems or concerns.
- Reconcile loans that have not funded and retrieve funds from closing agent.
- Meet established productivity levels and turnaround times as set by Operations Manager.
- Perform various additional tasks as assigned.
- Initiate funding request
Requirements:
This position requires at least 1 or more years of mortgage/closing experience. A high school diploma is required. Courses in Real Estate, mortgage banking and communications would be extremely helpful.
